Anyone that's wanting 6.5" woofers would have a hard time finding better speakers for less money. I'd order 4 more for future projects if I thought I could afford to drop another $230 on top of the 4 I ordered (have 2 already, paid $90 each about 3 months ago).

Even though they are 8 ohm, they seem to move the same amount of air as my 4 ohm type R's do even though they're supposed to pull half as much power. I'm guessing being in a sealed enclosure helps eliminate any backwave, offsetting the power penalty.

 

Ugh...

I wish I hadn't saw this. Now I'm gonna have to buy a pair just to sit on.

Guys, I'm looking for a good DIY component system. Can I run these off any crossover and pair with a good tweeter and call it good? Or does the x over need to be designed for this or? I'm lacking midbass right now and want something to keep up with my id15

Had a feeling about that. I emailed them a few months ago, they had mentioned that the cost of these drivers was getting too expensive for them. Makes sense that they would just try and sell off their stock and be done with them.

im sure the wife will be mad. but if i ever cook one - then i am screwed and i will have to buy new speakers (most likely way more expensive) and do a fresh re-install. this way i have backup. mind you, i have about 25+ speakers in a cabinet in the garage hahah! oh well

 

Damn this sucks, seems all the great small companies are closing shop.

Great price for these drivers that's for sure for a home project. Takes very little in box design to make these work.

After I read the disclaimer last night I ran down the hallway to get my laptop and place my order. My wife looked at me like I was crazy. I explained to her that these were amazing speakers at a great price and would never be available again and that they woulda make a great home stereo project. She still didnt approve of my want for these speakers.

yea, mine was shipped this morning too. i ordered mine at like 8am today, and then a few hours go by and they are not on sale anymore?

either he raised the price back up - or they are out. glad i got my bid in there before it was over. always good to have a backup pair - especially when they are out of production.

 

Any thoughts of this as an alternative to the Anarchy?

They'll probably pop up in the classifieds. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if someone went and bought a couple dozen and waits a couple months then starts selling them off at a higher price. Regardless, they'll probably never be had for $50 again.

 

you might not get them at all.

as far as that m165x woofer, its a very similar design, but from the description it seems to be more of a midrange woofer than a dedicated midbass that most people around here are using the anarchys for in conjunction with a dedicated midrange usually 3~4 inches.

it looks like a very strong speaker though. but not as strong of a dedicated midbass in a car i dont think.
