Which is better for audio installs: Epoxy Putty or Bondo?

Curious for opinions here. I want to add some sort of filler on my dash so that the h/u looks more flush. Is epoxy or bondo better for this type of thing? Are they vastly different in that one should definitely be used over the other? Never worked with either, so I have no practical experience.

Also, I'll likely be pulling my pillars out, adding some sort of filler there, and painting them. So, same question.

I figure these two tasks would have the same product used, but just wanted to make sure.

Epoxy putty seems like it'd be really good to use; easy to form, let it dry, then paint it.

I wouldn't use regular body filler. Instead I'd use fiberglass reinforced body filler ("kitty hair"). I've never used epoxy putty so I can't comment on it. Whatever you decide to use make sure you prep the plastic properly if you want it to turn out right.

If it's a very small spot like a gap in a dash kit use the epoxy since it's strong once it cures.

If you were to use a body filler....as customtronic suggested....use filler with glass beads and chopped matt.

You can even make your own.

Whenever I'm cutting or tearing chopped matt or my biaxial cloth I do it over a sheet of newspaper to catch all the clippings.

Use long fibers 1' to 2" for a larger repair and very short ones for a small repair. This will make sanding easier.

I put these clippings in an envelope and use it to whip up a batch of reinforced filler.....and you use whichever filler you like best.

Add a little extra resin along with the extra clippings you added and you're good to go.
